GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The TBS series bi-metal temperature
switches are ideal for temperature
monitoring and control applications in
pipes where a simple reliable design and
ease of installation are required. The TBS
switch operates on the bi-metal principle.
A contact mechanism of two dis-similar
metals expands and contracts at different
rates as process temperature changes,
causing movement of the contact. The
design is such that the contact separates
at a pre-determined temperature setpoint.
This method of temperature monitoring is
widely used and results in a very
repeatable temperature setpoint.
For ease of installation, the TBS is
supplied in a pipe tee in brass or stainless
steel, from 1/4” to 1-1/2” line sizes. The
contact has a normally closed (N/C)
switching function and is available in one
of 18 discrete setpoints ranging from -
10°C (14°F) to 100°C (212°F).
