3000 Series Air Flow Monitors (vent-captors)

The 3000 series of Air Flow Switches and Air Flow Transmitters provides the simplest, most reliable means of detecting air flow in a wide variety of industrial and commercial applications. Unlike mechanical flow switches or sail switches, the vent-captor series does not rely on moving parts. Air flow is detected using the “Calorimetric Principle” which is further discussed on our home page under the “Leak Detection using the calorimetric principle” article.

The sensor will not be damaged by excessive air flow as often occurs with mechanical switches. It can also detect much lower flow than any mechanical device. Air flow rates as low as 0-3 ft. per second are easily realized. However the units are also capable of rates as high as 150 ft. per second or more.

AC or DC versions are available.

Outputs can be a solid state switch with adjustable set point, or a 4-20 MA transmitter with adjustable zero and span, allowing the user to set the unit in the field to their particular flow rate.

No moving parts means no wear, no sticking, no broken paddles, no maintenance, and years of dependable performance.

Applications include:

  • Sensing air flow in ducts
  • Monitoring cooling airflow to electronic cabinets or enclosures
  • Monitoring compressed air or detecting leaks in pressurized systems
  • Air flow in fuel cells
  • Detecting air filter conditions to allow replacement of clogged filters
  • Air flow in fume hoods
  • Monitoring air flow rates to bubbler systems in Waste Water treatment

These are just a few of the many applications for the vent-captor air flow monitors. In addition they carry the CE mark, are resin epoxy encapsulated for high resistance to shock and vibration.

MOST POPULAR MODELS ARE

FOR AC - MODEL 3201.51

Fail Safe Normally Open logic means you will get a signal with FLOW ABOVE SETPOINT.
Please specify whether your application is for 120V or 220V service.
If you prefer a signal for FLOW BELOW SETPOINT, please specify 3201.50

For applications involving pressure in excess of 25 PSI please specify the 3205.51
with stainless steel jacket and Union Nut .

FOR DC (24V) – MODEL 3202.03

Fail Safe Normally Open logic means you will get a signal with FLOW ABOVE SETPOINT.
If you prefer a signal for FLOW BELOW SETPOINT, please specify 3202.02

For pressures above 25 PSI please specify the 3205.03 with stainless steel jacket
and Union Nut.
